NEW RELEASE TUESDAY! Frankie Rose – Interstellar

February 21, 2012 in New Release Tuesday, New Video Release, Now Stream This!

Frankie Rose releases her sophomore effort, Interstellar, out today via Slumberland. If you have listened to her debut album, you might think this sounds like someone else entirely, as she moves farther from her garage rock revival roots. Frankie Rose did some quick time in the Dum Dum Girls, but she’s better known for her work with the Vivian Girls and Crystal Stilts, bands that were highly influenced by pop sounds from yesteryear and mashing them up with a bit of contemporary lo-fi indie pop.  Interstellar includes Frankie’s dreamy vocals and dreamy synths and is influenced greatly by electronic bands like New Order, the Cure and multi-tracked harmonies, like the Cocteau Twins. Try to catch her on her spring tour, which kicks of on April 5th in Philadelphia, PA through May 3rd in Albany, NY. After listening to this album, it could possibly be the one to take first place in your rotation for 2012. Get a listen to the album below, courtesy of Spin and then, head over Amazon and buy the album.
