There have been 100 shows produced for Sleepover Shows and they are still going strong. Just like Rock Cousteau, they are thrilled to be able to bring you good music each week. They love meeting up with bands, finding interesting places to film, and sharing the videos with you.

This week, they met up with Deer Tick, who were stopping by to end a string of dates with The Felice Brothers. This Sleepover Show takes place in a lounge in a basement at the end of a stairway.

The band got right to business and started playing ‘These Old Shoes’ from War Elephant. After that, they performed one of their newer tracks off Divine Providence, ‘Main Street’.

Courtesy of Live & Reel Recording, you are presented with your holiday gift of this recording by Diamond Rugs. Previously, we told you about Diamond Rugs catchy and kitschy song, and they have once again sat down to play this tune again. John and Rob from Diamond Rugs (members of Deer Tick, The Black Lips, Dead Confederate, Six Finger Satellite, and Los Lobos) sat down to play a little Christmas number for y’all. It suggested that headphones or good speakers will heighten this experience!

LATE NIGHT APPEARANCES! Deer Tick performs ‘Funny Word’ for funny guy Conan

Deer Tick at Grand Central, Miami 7/28/11

Everyone’s favorite rock band from Providence, R.I., Deer Tick, stopped by Conan last night to perform ‘Funny Word’. ‘Funny Word’ is another one of Deer Tick’s “spirited” tunes from their latest LP, Divine Providence. John McCauley and Deer Tick provide the viewers with a visual experience leading up to what we consider the ultimate bar band made good. The most endearing comment following the performance is made by McCauley as O’Brien approaches him for a quick greet, “Let’s go get a beer.”

NOW STREAM THIS! Diamond Rugs – ‘Christmas in a Chinese Restaurant’

December 5, 2011 in New Artist Intros, New Video Release, Now Stream This!

Diamond Rugs is a new band made up of members from various established bands. Ya got, John McCauley and Robbie Crowell from rock/punk/roots band Deer Tick, Ian Saint Pé of psychedelic/punk guys The Black Lips, Steve Berlin of Los Lobos, Hardy Morris of Dead Confederate, and Bryan Dufresne of Six Finger Satellite. The band is so fresh, they have never played a show yet, but they are scheduled to make their live debut before the end of the year 12/29 in Atlanta. An album has been recorded, due out in Spring 2012. Said album includes this fine nugget, ‘Christmas In A Chinese Restaurant.’ If you are looking for a sincere sentimental holiday song, this is not it. It made us snicker and should be coined as the greatest holiday song of all time! We won’t ruin it for you, but get a listen for yourself. We got the video below and the stream below that. Happy Holidays from RC!

What we have for you below, is the Uncensored version of the video. What better way to express your feelings in a music video than with fireworks and flowers in the sky! It’s a July 4th celebration all over again.

Deer Tick, often described as indie folk, is ready to release Divine Providence in a few weeks. The album is scheduled for release on October 25th, but you can get a fist look/listen, as the band has provided a trailer which includes a quick behind-the-scenes look at the making of the album. We definitely admire this band and always jump at every opportunity to see them live. Hoping for a voyage to see them in Orlando, FL next week.
